Officials from the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC) have dismissed viral social media claims suggesting the use of 'plastic rods' in the Indore-Ujjain six-lane road project. The clarification emerged after videos questioning material quality spread online.
MPRDC explained that the material in question is rust-proof glass fibre reinforced polymer (GFRP), a durable, lightweight alternative to steel, often mistaken for plastic. Manager Ganesh Bhabhar emphasized GFRP's superior tensile strength and resistance to rust, countering misinformation about its properties.
To reassure the public, MPRDC reiterated its commitment to maintaining high construction standards, drawing attention to GFRP's proven effectiveness in modern engineering projects.
