China Enforces Stiff Tariffs on Butyl Rubber Imports
China has announced anti-dumping tariffs on halogenated butyl rubber imports from Canada and Japan. Duties range from 13.8% to 30.1%, effective March 14 for five years, following investigations in 2024.

The Chinese Commerce Ministry announced on Friday the imposition of anti-dumping tariffs of up to 30.1% on imports of halogenated butyl rubber from Canada and Japan. This comes as a result of the final ruling after investigations initiated in 2024.
According to the ruling, imports from Canada will face anti-dumping duties of 13.8%, while most imports from Japan will be charged at a 30.1% rate, except for Japan Butyl which will incur a 15% duty.
The tariffs are set to take effect from March 14 and will remain in place for five years, as confirmed by the ministry.
