Andhra Minister Calms Seafood Export Fears Amid Gulf Tensions

In Andhra Pradesh, Agriculture Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu has reassured aquaculture farmers regarding the continuity of seafood exports amidst Gulf region tensions. The Minister advised against panic-driven decisions, emphasizing minimal disruption of seafood exports.
Engaging with the Andhra Pradesh State Aquaculture Development Authority, Atchannaidu clarified that West Asian exports constitute a minor percentage of India's total seafood export figure. He urged farmers not to succumb to rumors and to maintain standard aquaculture practices.
Highlighting opportunities, the Minister pointed to the forecasted rise in U.S. shrimp demand, and dismissed reports of a container shortage as incorrect, affirming the central government's active monitoring with stakeholders.
