BTS Comeback Concert Set to Draw Massive Crowd in Seoul

BTS fans are in for a treat as a massive comeback concert is set to take place in central Seoul next week. Expected to draw a crowd of up to 260,000 people, South Korean authorities are taking significant safety measures to ensure the event runs smoothly. Scheduled for March 21, the concert marks the chart-topping K-pop group's first new album release in over three years.

The concert will stretch from Gwanghwamun Square to City Hall, uniquely positioning itself as one of the largest public gatherings since the 2002 World Cup. With Netflix streaming the event live to 190 countries, the concert has garnered global interest. Despite the availability of 22,000 free tickets to the concert, the area will be open for fans without tickets, according to the Interior Minister.

In a concerted effort to ensure public safety, about 4,800 police officers and 3,400 officials from related organizations will be deployed. Emphasizing a 'safety-first' approach, plans include thorough pre-event inspections, on-the-ground joint command operations, and immediate post-event clean-up. Following the fatal 2022 Halloween crush, South Korea remains vigilant about safety at mass gatherings.
