Amid escalating airfares due to conflict in the Middle East, former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has expressed serious concern. He highlighted the plight of Indians stranded abroad, particularly students and workers struggling to return home due to soaring costs.
Gehlot emphasized the urgency of the situation, pointing out that many Indians who have temporarily returned to the country find it challenging to go back to their jobs and educational commitments overseas. He stressed that government relief should be prioritized during such crises.
Calling for immediate intervention, Gehlot appealed to the Indian government and the Ministry of Civil Aviation to impose a cap on airfares. He asserted that airlines making excessive profits during disasters is against public interest and urged action to prevent families from being separated due to high travel costs.
