Ukraine Secures Release of Nationals from Budapest
Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced the successful release of seven Ukrainian nationals who were detained in Budapest. The group has safely crossed back into Ukraine. The Ukrainian foreign ministry had earlier summoned Hungary's acting chargé d'affaires over the detentions.
Ukraine's foreign minister, Andrii Sybiha, announced on Friday the release of seven Ukrainian nationals from detention in Budapest. This development marks a significant diplomatic success for Kyiv.
Sybiha shared in a post on X that the individuals have safely returned, crossing the border into Ukraine, bringing relief and resolution to the situation.
Earlier that day, Ukraine's foreign ministry had taken diplomatic action by summoning Hungary's acting chargé d'affaires in Kyiv to address the detentions, reflecting the seriousness of the incident.
