The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has successfully reopened the critical Bhaderwah–Bani–Basohli national highway, reconnecting the Doda and Kathua districts in Jammu and Kashmir. This followed a strategic and coordinated operation amidst extreme weather conditions.
A recent snowstorm at Chattergala Pass had temporarily disrupted the 65-kilometre stretch, critically affecting vehicular movement in the region. The tasked teams from the 69 and 118 Road Construction Company (RCC) of the 35 Border Roads Task Force (BRTF), under Project Sampark, undertook intensive snow-clearance activities near the Ashapati glacier and Mount Kailash's foothills.
Despite the daunting conditions marked by deep snow and sub-zero temperatures, the teams worked tirelessly to restore the road ahead of the seasonal schedule. The reopening has ensured the safe passage of essential supplies and emergency services, demonstrating BRO's commitment to infrastructure excellence and providing much-needed relief to local residents and businesses.
