Fire Erupts in Train Coach at Katwa Station

In a startling incident early on Sunday, a coach of the Katwa-Azimganj passenger train caught fire at Katwa railway station in West Bengal's Purba Bardhaman district. Eastern Railway officials confirm there were no injuries as the train was empty at the time.

The blaze erupted around 4:30 am in the coach standing on platform number two. Agitated passengers alerted the authorities at the station as flames began engulfing the coach, causing brief panic on the platform.

Firefighters arrived promptly, bringing the situation under control within 30 minutes, according to fire officials. Railway staff took swift action by detaching the affected coach to prevent any further spread of the fire. An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the blaze.
