In a scathing review, YSRCP leader B Rajendranath labeled the Andhra Pradesh 2026-27 budget as a 'bundle of lies.' He accused the government of manipulating figures and altering the budget format to hide rather than reveal genuine financial data.
The budget, amounting to over Rs 3.32 lakh crore, was described by the government as an effort to navigate out of financial troubles allegedly caused by previous regimes. Rajendranath, however, cited discrepancies, like the Jal Jeevan Mission's funding, as evidence of the budget's inaccuracies.
Expressing concern over unmet poll promises, insignificant revenue growth, and rising state debt, Rajendranath argued that critical sectors, such as agriculture, education, and unemployment, were neglected. Despite these criticisms, the government maintains that the budget is a step toward recovery from past mismanagement.
