In a significant move to bolster its presence in Odisha, Vedanta Aluminium has secured a land allotment of over 1,447 acres from the state government for a major project in Dhenkanal district.
The allotment was confirmed at a recent business summit in Rourkela, attended by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain. Vedanta CEO Rajiv Kumar acknowledged the state government's support as crucial for the project's momentum.
With plans to build a 3 million tons per annum aluminium smelter and a 4,900 MW power plant, this venture intends to enhance employment, invigorate local businesses, and solidify Odisha's standing as a global aluminium leader.
