A Sri Lankan court has issued an order for the country's customs department to expedite an investigation concerning the engine capacity of Chinese BYD electric vehicles.
The allegation suggests that the declared motor power of the vehicles has been understated—from 150 kW to 100 kW—to reduce customs tariffs.
The Appeal Court emphasized the need to protect the interests of both importers and buyers while allowing the possibility for the importer to challenge the committee's findings.
