Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd celebrated a significant milestone during the festive season by delivering over 100,000 vehicles between Navratri and Diwali, marking a 33% increase compared to last year. The company's strong performance was largely driven by the surging sales of SUVs and electric vehicles (EVs).
The Nexon emerged as the top-selling model with 38,000 units sold, exhibiting a remarkable 73% growth, while the Punch followed closely with 32,000 units, reflecting a 29% year-on-year rise. The company's EV sales also surpassed 10,000, showcasing a 37% increase. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director and CEO of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd, highlighted the comprehensive portfolio's role in this success.
Chandra emphasized the full range of cars and SUVs boosting the growth, underscoring their strategic aim for product leadership and market relevance. This festival season's performance is expected to set a positive tone for the remainder of the fiscal year, paving the way for upcoming launches amid sustained customer enthusiasm. The automotive industry broadly mirrored this trend, with increased sales during Dhanteras, supported by upbeat market sentiment and GST 2.0 reforms.
