On Tuesday, Ashish Chauhan, CEO of the National Stock Exchange (NSE), conveyed optimism about Indian markets projecting a brighter horizon in Samvat 2082. Chauhan's remarks came post the Muhurat trading session, emphasizing India's market robustness despite global setbacks over the past year.
Chauhan noted that while India achieved a 6.5 percent return on index over the last Samvat year, other indices such as gold, silver, the S&P 500, and Japan's index performed better. However, he asserted that over the past five years, India has outshined globally, with Samvat 2082 promising even greater outcomes.
During the Muhurat trading session, major indices like Nifty closed at 25,868.60 and the Sensex at 84,426.34, both slightly up. Chauhan credited GST reductions for boosting vehicle sales and highlighted significant growth in service exports. Addressing the NSE's IPO, Chauhan mentioned awaiting SEBI's nod, with a launch expected within the year.
