Union Food Minister Pralhad Joshi has extended support to the Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2025, positioning it as pivotal in strengthening India's status in the global rice trade. Scheduled for October 30-31 in New Delhi, the conference will gather stakeholders across the rice value chain, including farmers, exporters, policymakers, and global buyers.

Joshi emphasized a balanced approach, ensuring that export growth coincides with farmer prosperity and food security. The minister outlined plans to reform India's public distribution system and increase agricultural exports, with BIRC 2025 serving as a landmark event on the journey to Viksit Bharat 2047.

Recognizing India's role as a major rice producer and contributor to global food security, BIRC 2025 aims to discuss trade opportunities, climate resilience, and sustainable practices in the rice sector. Organized by IREF, the event will unite government representatives, trade bodies, and researchers to stabilize and modernize the global rice market.
