In Zhangjiagang, China, the Fastsort-Textile machine is setting new standards for sustainable recycling through the use of artificial intelligence. Developed by DataBeyond, the machine has been recognized as one of Time magazine's Best Inventions of 2025, originally designed to efficiently sort and recycle textile waste by composition.

Using an AI-driven scanner, the machine can process two tons of textile waste per hour, significantly outperforming human capabilities and markedly reducing inaccuracies in sorting. This innovation addresses a critical environmental challenge by increasing the rate of recyclable materials and decreasing landfill contributions.

The Fastsort-Textile machine represents a shift toward 'dark factories,' industrial environments where AI and robotics operate independently.
