Super Micro Computer announced Thursday that two of its employees have been placed on administrative leave and a contractor has been terminated after they were charged with conspiring to unlawfully transfer U.S. artificial intelligence technology to China.

In response to the charges, the company emphasized that the alleged misconduct contradicts its policies and compliance measures, particularly in relation to adhering to export control laws and regulations.

Super Micro clarified that while its employees face individual charges, the company itself is not listed as a defendant in the indictment brought forth by the U.S. Justice Department.
