Lloyds Banking Group has launched an investigation following a technical glitch that briefly allowed customers to view each other's transactions online. This incident is the latest in a chain of digital blunders for UK banks transitioning to fully digital platforms.
A spokesperson from Lloyds apologized, acknowledging the inconvenience caused to users who experienced this issue within the banking app. Media reports indicated that customers were inadvertently exposed to other users' account transactions.
While the bank has assured the public that the problem has been resolved, the incident revives concerns recently highlighted by Britain's cross-party Treasury Committee. Last year, the committee reported that major UK banks endured over 803 hours of technology outages in 2023 alone, hindering access for millions of consumers.
