In a strategic move to bolster startup innovation, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has signed an agreement with Voltas, a leading player in the cooling and smart appliance industry. This collaboration aims to support startups working on advanced technologies in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), advanced control systems, and digitalization in manufacturing and services.
As part of this initiative, the Startup India program under DPIIT and Voltas will leverage platforms like the Bharat Startup Grand Challenge to organize innovation challenges and hackathons. These events will focus on industry-specific problem statements, offering participating startups a chance to receive mentorship, technical guidance, and access to testing infrastructure.
The partnership emphasizes key areas such as energy-efficient cooling solutions, air-quality monitoring technologies, and digital tools for installation. Moreover, selected startups will have the opportunity to engage in structured Proof-of-Concept (PoC) programs with Voltas' engineering teams, facilitating product validation and market integration through field trials and the company's service network.
