State-owned BSNL has announced a collaboration with satellite company Viasat to enhance the Indian Navy's satellite communications. The partnership aims to modernize the Navy's infrastructure, combining Ka-band and L-band satellite systems for improved connectivity.
The agreement will enable the Indian Navy to transition to a multi-band SATCOM strategy, boosting mission-critical operations' reliability and speed. BSNL's Gateway Earth Station and Viasat's global network are crucial to the initiative.
Installation activities are set to begin this month as the equipment arrives in India. The upgrade demonstrates a strong commitment to India's defense communication ecosystem, promising resilient, high-throughput connections for the naval platforms.
