Indian cricket captain Harmanpreet Kaur has set a new record by becoming the highest T20I run-scorer while leading, achieving this feat during the third match against South Africa in Johannesburg. Kaur's impressive knock of 66 runs from just 38 balls bolstered her side's innings, managing seven boundaries and three towering sixes.

Across 138 matches, Kaur has accumulated 3,017 runs with an average of 32.79, overtaking Sri Lanka's Chamari Athapaththu. Despite her individual milestones, India's campaign against South Africa has been challenging, facing a 3-0 series deficit with two games remaining. Kaur's scoring flair brought little relief against the South African onslaught.

In the third T20I, India put up a commendable score of 192/4, supported by Shafali Verma’s 64. However, South Africa, led by a brilliant century from captain Laura Woolvardt, achieved a decisive nine-wicket win, chasing down the target with 21 balls to spare.
