Young Tigresses Aim for FIFA World Cup Breakthrough

The Indian Under-20 women's football team, known as the Young Tigresses, is eagerly preparing to secure a coveted spot in the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup Poland 2026. They face a formidable challenge as they start their campaign on Thursday in the AFC U-20 Women's Asian Cup against six-time champions, Japan.

Coach Joakim Alexandersson has instilled confidence in the team, which is returning to the continental stage after a 20-year hiatus. After finishing top in their qualifiers last August, the team is determined to overcome strong competition from teams like Japan, Australia, and Chinese Taipei, in Group C.
