The much-anticipated Khelo India Tribal Games 2026 are set to begin on March 25, spanning the culturally vibrant cities of Raipur, Jagdalpur, and Surguja. These locations, nestled in the tribal heartland of Chhattisgarh, will see over 2300 athletes and 3700 participants come together to celebrate the region's rich diversity and traditions.

Former Indian football captain Bhaichung Bhutia remarked on the importance of the event, emphasizing its role in supporting and nurturing natural tribal talent. 'Tribal communities possess innate sporting abilities, and initiatives like KITG provide crucial platforms to showcase and enhance this talent,' Bhutia told ANI.

The Games will feature nine sports disciplines, including Archery, Athletics, Football, and indigenous favorites like Mallakhamb and Kabaddi. These are designed to highlight the cultural heritage of India's tribal communities while promoting competitive excellence. Morveer, the event's mascot, embodies the pride and identity of these communities, signifying bravery and belonging.
