Egypt vs. Spain Football Showdown Relocates to Barcelona Amid Middle East Turmoil
Egypt's football match against Spain, initially set in Qatar, will now take place in Barcelona due to Middle East conflicts impacting transit in the region. The Egyptian Football Association confirmed the move, resolving previous logistical issues and ensuring preparations for the upcoming World Cup continue as planned.
Egypt's national football team will take on Spain in Barcelona later this month, in a match moved from Qatar amid ongoing Middle East conflicts. The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) confirmed the new location on Thursday, following previous reports of cancellation due to organizational issues.
Originally scheduled for Qatar, the game was relocated after U.S.-Israeli military actions in Iran affected regional travel, complicating access through vital transit routes. The EFA clarified that travel visa issues had been resolved, setting the match for March 31 as a crucial World Cup preparation.
While Egypt is set to confront teams like Belgium and Iran in the World Cup's Group G, their friendly against Spain, who will play in Group H, remains pivotal. Both nations view these encounters as essential groundwork ahead of the World Cup in North America from June 11 to July 19.
