The Chennai Super Kings have been dealt a significant setback ahead of the upcoming IPL season. Star Australian pacer Nathan Ellis has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury, confirmed a franchise official on Thursday.
The 31-year-old bowler was anticipated to lead the pace attack for the five-time champions, particularly with Sri Lankan player Matheesha Pathirana having joined the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Despite being a crucial player who was retained at a Rs 2-crore price tag in the 2025 mega auction after four seasons with the Punjab Kings, the CSK team has yet to decide on a replacement. Their IPL campaign is set to kick-off against the Rajasthan Royals on March 30 in Guwahati.
