Somaiya Vidyavihar University Triumphs in Squash National Championships

Somaiya Vidyavihar University's men's and women's squash teams displayed remarkable prowess at the AIU All India Inter-University Squash Tournament 2025-26, securing the championships in both categories. The intense five-day competition saw 76 teams from 36 universities vying, turning the campus into a robust hub for university squash.

The women’s team, led by Captain Nirupama Dubey, dominated the final with a 3-0 victory against Panjab University, while the men’s team secured a thrilling 3-2 win over the University of Madras. The achievements underscore SVU's commitment to nurturing talent within a world-class sporting ecosystem.

With international-standard facilities and expert coaching, SVU is becoming a beacon for university squash. The university will host the FISU World University Squash Championship in 2026, further elevating its standing as a center for global sporting excellence and fostering international collaboration among young athletes.
