PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp unveiled plans for a significant transformation of the circuit. The proposal, centered on a two-track system similar to English soccer, aims to enhance competition through promotion and relegation while revamping the postseason with potential match play inclusion.

The new structure would see the main season focused between late January and early September, featuring 21 to 26 tournaments in an elevated series. This could double the current eight signature events, offering a merit-based advancement to the top level for players excelling in the second track.

Rolapp, discussing ahead of the Players Championship in Florida, mentioned a shift towards more substantial fields and away from smaller, no-cut formats. The PGA is also considering scheduling changes and a strong U.S. market presence, with the postseason review exploring match play's potential addition. Rolapp emphasized that discussions are still exploratory.
