In an impressive display on Sunday, United States skipper Monank Patel overcame a string of lesser performances to notch a stylish half-century against Namibia in the T20 World Cup group match.

Opening the innings, Patel hit 52 runs from 30 deliveries, featuring three boundaries and an equal number of sixes. His energetic performance laid the foundation for the US side's total.

Sanjay Krishnamurthi remained unbeaten with an authoritative 68 from just 33 balls, while Milind Kumar added a supportive 28, leaving the USA with a competitive 199 for 4. Namibia's bowling efforts were led by leg-spinner Willem Myburgh and captain Gerhard Erasmus, who claimed two wickets each.
