M Raja secured gold in the men's 65kg category at the National Weightlifting Championships, surpassing Commonwealth Games winner Jeremy Lalrinnunga. Raja lifted 302kg, defeating Charu Pesi and Jeremy. Meanwhile, Arumugapandian Maharajan excelled in both Youth and Junior categories, marking him as a rising weightlifting star.
At the National Weightlifting Championships, Tamil Nadu's M Raja emerged victorious in the men's 65kg category, outperforming a competitive lineup including Commonwealth Games champion Jeremy Lalrinnunga.
The 26-year-old Commonwealth Championships silver medallist achieved a total lift of 302kg, securing a decisive win over Charu Pesi and Lalrinnunga.
In a separate achievement, Services lifter Arumugapandian Maharajan claimed 'double-gold' in both the Youth and Junior categories, showcasing his potential as India's next weightlifting sensation.
