BWF Defends India Open Venue Amidst Criticisms

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has confirmed that the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex in New Delhi meets international standards for hosting the prestigious World Championships in August, despite facing criticisms during the ongoing India Open Super 750 tournament.

Participants at the tournament expressed concerns over air quality, hygiene, and cold temperatures, with Danish player Mia Blichfeldt highlighting the 'unhealthy' conditions. The BWF acknowledged these issues and credited the Badminton Association of India with making swift improvements.

The venue is seen as an upgrade from the KD Jadhav Stadium, with improved infrastructure and facilities. BWF is focusing on further enhancements to ensure a high-quality environment for the World Championships, affirming their commitment to delivering world-class events.
