Cricket West Indies has unveiled its squad for a five-match T20 series against New Zealand, slated for November 5 to 13. Following their triumphant series win over Bangladesh, the Men in Maroon head to New Zealand as they fine-tune preparations for the ICC T20 World Cup in 2026.
Matthew Forde has been recalled following a successful rehabilitation from a shoulder injury, bolstering the seam bowling unit hit by recent injuries. Notably absent will be left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie, who is working to correct a technical issue with his action, expected to make him a linchpin in the T20 World Cup.
Significantly, Clinical Psychologist Krisnan Hurdle joins the team as Mental Skills and Performance Coach, marking a strategic move aligned with global practices. Director of Cricket Miles Bascombe emphasized that mental fortitude is key to elite performance, ensuring players manage pressure and maintain focus.
