The capital of Morocco, Rabat, is set to become the epicenter of African football excitement as it hosts next month's African World Cup playoffs. The Confederation of African Football confirmed on Wednesday that three different stadiums in the city will stage the matches.
Nigeria will face off against Gabon on November 13 at 1600 GMT, with Cameroon competing against the Democratic Republic of Congo later at 1900 GMT. A draw will be conducted on Thursday to determine which game will occur at Stade El Barid and which at the Prince Heritier Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex. The victorious semifinal teams will clash in a decisive game on November 16 at the Stade Prince Heritier Moulay Abdellah, with the winners advancing to the inter-continental playoffs in March.
This thrilling series of matches will add to the anticipation building for the Africa Cup of Nations finals, also hosted in Rabat, beginning on December 21 and culminating in the final at the newly constructed Stade Prince Heritier Moulay Abdellah on January 18.
