Avram Grant has resigned from his position as Zambia's soccer coach, a move announced less than two months before the Africa Cup of Nations finals. His departure follows Zambia's disappointing World Cup qualifying performance, marking a challenging period for the team known as the Chipolopolo.

The 70-year-old, who previously managed Chelsea, West Ham, and Portsmouth, took over as Zambia's coach at the end of 2022. Under his leadership in the last Cup of Nations held in Ivory Coast, the team struggled, failing to advance beyond the first round of play.

Zambia is set to compete in the 2025 finals, facing teams such as the hosts Morocco, Comoros, and Mali in Group A. However, their recent World Cup qualifiers saw them finish fourth in their group, winning only three out of eight matches. Grant expressed hopes for Zambia's future World Cup success.
