Rohit Sharma, former India cricket captain, ascended to the top of the ICC Men's ODI batter rankings for the first time in his career on Wednesday. This achievement follows an impressive unbeaten century during the final ODI against Australia, leading India to a substantial nine-wicket victory in Sydney.
The 38-year-old cricketer, alongside teammate Virat Kohli, showcased formidable prowess, scoring a blazing 33rd ODI century comprising 13 boundaries and three massive sixes. This noteworthy performance propelled him past Afghanistan's Ibrahim Zadran and teammate Shubman Gill in the rankings.
Additionally, Indian player Axar Patel climbed the rankings in both bowling and all-rounder categories following a strong performance in Sydney. Alongside IPL movements for global players, South African and New Zealand cricketers saw notable changes in the ICC rankings.
