India's vice-captain and opener, Smriti Mandhana, continues to reign supreme at the top of the ICC Women's ODI Batter Rankings. Mandhana's commanding innings, including a 109-run knock against New Zealand Women and an unbeaten 34 against Bangladesh Women, have propelled her to a career-best rating of 828. This remarkable achievement places her nearly 100 points ahead of her closest rival, Australia's Ash Gardner, who has climbed six places after an impressive unbeaten century against England.
Mandhana's extraordinary form has earned her the title of ICC Women's Player of the Month for September 2025. This recognition comes on the back of her consistent contributions in the ODI series against Australia preceding the World Cup. Meanwhile, South African captain Laura Wolvaardt has also moved into the top three, thanks to her vital innings of 90 and 31 runs in recent games.
Other significant advancements in the rankings include England's Amy Jones, who has vaulted into the top 10, moving four spots up to ninth place. Annabel Sutherland marks the most significant rise within the top 40, ascending 16 places to 16th. Despite being sidelined for the rest of the tournament due to injury, Pratika Rawal's consistent performances have secured her a spot in the top 30. In the bowling rankings, Sophie Ecclestone maintains a firm hold at the top, while Alana King, riding on a seven-wicket haul against South Africa, is now second.
