Anshul Mishra, the reigning All India Amateur champion, is making significant strides in his debut appearance at the 16th Asia Pacific Amateur Championship, held at the Majilis Course at the Emirates Golf Club. On Friday, the 17-year-old Kolkata golfer showcased his skill, ending the second day tied 13th with a promising 3-under 69, totaling 3-under for two days.

Mishra trails the leading trio, Rintaro Nakano, Khanh Hung Le, and Australia's Harry Takis, all settled at 11-under. Despite an eight-shot deficit, he remains the top Indian in the field. His focus on avoiding bogeys proved largely successful, picking up three of four birdies on the par-5 holes.

Four out of five Indian golfers, including Raghav Gulati, Rakshit Dahiya, and Ranveer Mitroo, made the cut, while Harman Sachdeva missed it by two shots. The tournament offers a coveted entry into the 2026 Masters and the 2026 Open for the winner, adding to the stakes for participants.
