Five Indian golfers will compete in the 16th Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship, beginning in Dubai. Rakshit Dahiya, currently ranked 313th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, leads the Indian contingent, which also includes Anshul Mishra, Ranveer Mitroo, Raghav Gulati, and Harman Sachdeva.
While none of the Indian participants have previously clinched the prestigious title, hopes remain high. Dahiya, who has prior experience in the championship, aims to spearhead India's challenge. The others are looking to gain international exposure. The event, returning to Dubai for the first time since 2021, offers alluring incentives, including entry to the 2026 Masters Tournament for the champion.
Nurtured by the combined efforts of the APGC, the Masters Tournament, and The R&A since 2009, the tournament is a breeding ground for future professionals. Past participants have included the likes of Hideki Matsuyama and Cameron Smith, both now prominent figures in the sport.
