Jamaica's national soccer team, famously known as the 'Reggae Boyz,' is on the brink of securing a coveted World Cup spot after a commanding 4-0 victory over Bermuda on Tuesday. The win marks their potential return to the global stage since their debut in 1998.
The match saw Bermuda's Dante Leverock scor an own goal, with Bobby De Corva-Reid and Shamar Nicholson adding to Jamaica's tally before halftime. In the second half, Dujuan Richards sealed the win with a 76th-minute goal. The Reggae Boyz now lead Group B with nine points, pressing towards qualification with a decisive match against Curacao on November 18.
The broader CONCACAF qualification round features 12 teams from Central America and the Caribbean chasing three World Cup spots. Panama and Suriname sit in contentious positions after a 1-1 draw, as the competitive landscape takes shape with only a few matches remaining.
