Revived Wells to Combat Thane's Water Woes

In a bid to tackle the looming urban water scarcity, Thane city has unveiled two revamped wells, integrating modern Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology to ensure citizens are not left high and dry during water disruptions.
The project, propelled by a dedicated Rs 50 crore fund approved during the tenure of former Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, envisions the refurbishment of 46 traditional wells across Thane and Mira-Bhayander.
The recent inauguration by Maharashtra Transport Minister and local MLA Pratap Sarnaik in Lokmanyanagar and Unnati Garden signifies a significant stride towards sustainable urban water solutions, emphasizing both the revitalization of natural water sources and critical infrastructure enhancements.
