On the occasion of Himachal Day, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced significant policy changes and developmental projects in Reckong Peo, Kinnaur district. The most notable was the withdrawal of the three per cent salary deferment for Class I and Class II officers.
Additionally, CM Sukhu declared financial benefits for women in the district, introduced initiatives for police personnel, and detailed plans for infrastructure enhancement. This includes geothermal heating systems, new traffic tunnels, and upgraded educational institutions.
In efforts to rejuvenate border trade, the government plans to reopen the route with China at Shipki-La, promoting tourism and benefiting local economies. Several infrastructure projects, including road construction and sewerage schemes, were also unveiled.
