A fatal accident involving a tractor trolley claimed the lives of three women and left around 18 others injured in Uttar Pradesh's Kushinagar district. The tragic event unfolded when the vehicle, carrying approximately 25 devotees, overturned and fell into the Gandak canal on Wednesday evening. According to authorities, the incident happened near the Siswa regulator under Khadda police station limits, around 8 pm.

The devotees were en route from Mamkhor Barhara village in Maharajganj district's Ghughli area to the Chaitra Ram Navami Varni fair at Bhaisaha Ghat. Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident occurred after the trolley's hook disengaged from the tractor, leading to the vehicle tipping over into the canal.

Among the deceased identified are Meera Devi, Kismati Devi, and Nirmala, who succumbed to their injuries during treatment at Kushinagar Medical College. Authorities are continuing the investigation into the mishap, while some passengers managed to jump off and save themselves. The remains of the victims have been sent for autopsy.
