Metro Mania: Delhi Man's 24-Year Journey on the First Train of Every New Line

Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Tokhan Sahu, commended Anil Marwah, a dedicated Delhi Metro enthusiast, who has been on the first train of every new corridor since the metro's inception in 2002. Marwah's commitment to this tradition signifies the transformative role of the metro in revolutionizing urban transit in India.

Recalling the advent of the metro, Marwah noted its pivotal role in enhancing connectivity and alleviating traffic congestion in Delhi. Before the metro's expansion, commuters faced lengthy waits due to inadequate bus services. Today, the metro's dependability and timeliness significantly reduce travel-related stress for millions of passengers.

During a ceremony honoring Marwah, Minister Sahu highlighted the extensive growth of metro networks across India, now the third-largest globally. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, metros have evolved into cleaner, safer, and more efficient systems. Sahu stressed that public transport use is crucial for mitigating traffic congestion and promoting environmental sustainability.
