Gujarat has launched an Asset Safety Monitoring Portal to oversee over 1.5 lakh public assets, including roads and buildings, ensuring safety and timely maintenance. This initiative, directed by the General Administration Department, employs a centralized digital platform for systematic monitoring, involving key governmental personnel in regular reviews and updates.
The state of Gujarat has embarked on a significant initiative to safeguard its public infrastructure by launching an Asset Safety Monitoring Portal. This new system aims to oversee more than 1.5 lakh assets, such as roads, bridges, and government buildings, ensuring they do not pose any safety risks to citizens.
An official directive from the General Administration Department outlines that all existing public assets in the state will be registered on a centralized digital platform. This platform will utilize Geographic Information System (GIS)-based location mapping, offering a detailed view of each asset's condition alongside a unique digital identity.
The introduction of this portal mandates field officers to submit inspection reports and photographs regularly. District collectors, municipal commissioners, and other administrative officials are expected to conduct routine reviews to maintain oversight. The initiative, backed by comprehensive digital tools, promises timely action on repairs, thereby augmenting public safety.
