In a significant development at the Etawah Lion Safari Park, a lioness named Neerja delivered four healthy cubs recently. The director of the park, Anil Kumar Patel, confirmed the births, marking a successful addition to the park’s conservation efforts.
The cubs were born to the Asiatic lion pair Neerja and Kanha, who mated last November. The pregnancy was confirmed by experts, leading to the lions being shifted to the safari's breeding center, where Neerja received special care in anticipation of the births around Holi.
With the arrival of these cubs, Neerja has now increased her progeny to nine. The park features enhanced surveillance with CCTV, ensuring both Neerja and her cubs are well-monitored.
