Mild Tremor Shakes Palghar District: No Damage Reported
A mild 2.5 magnitude tremor struck Maharashtra's Palghar district on Saturday night without causing damage or injury. Occurring at a depth of 5 km, with the epicenter 97 km west of Nashik, authorities advised residents not to panic, as such seismic activities are common in the area.

A mild tremor measuring 2.5 on the Richter scale was registered in Maharashtra's coastal Palghar district on Saturday night, according to local officials. Recorded at 9:11 pm, the tremor incited brief concerns among residents in the seismically sensitive areas of Talasari and Dhundalwadi.
Vivekanand Kadam, head of the District Disaster Management Cell, confirmed that the seismic activity occurred at a shallow depth of 5 km, with the epicenter positioned 97 km west of Nashik. Fortunately, no injuries or property damage were reported in the aftermath of the tremor.
Kadam reassured the public by stating, "We urge citizens not to panic as these low-intensity tremors are a known characteristic of the region's geological profile."
