In a dramatic rescue operation in Thane, over 70 residents were saved after a fire erupted early Tuesday morning in an 18-storey residential building. The blaze, which originated in an electric duct, left two residents injured and sent thick smoke through the Milan Hill building.

The incident occurred at 4:14 am in the Shastri Nagar locality, prompting a swift response from the fire brigade and disaster management team. They successfully evacuated those trapped on higher floors. The fire had spread between the 10th and 13th floors, causing substantial smoke that complicated the rescue efforts.

While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, the prompt actions of the emergency services ensured that the blaze was extinguished by 5:30 am. Meanwhile, the injured individuals, aged 62 and 74, were taken to private hospitals as officials assessed the damage to the building's infrastructure.
