The Haryana government has approved an innovative policy aimed at establishing nursing homes in plotted residential colonies statewide. This initiative seeks to fill healthcare gaps in burgeoning residential zones, ensuring that essential medical services are reachable for all residents.

Passed during a state cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the policy allows nursing homes on residential plots owned by qualified allopathic and AYUSH doctors. Applicants must verify their registration with the Medical Council or AYUSH Council and the Indian Medical Association. An affidavit submission is necessary with the application.

The policy restricts the number of nursing homes to four per sector and specifies plot size requirements by zone potential. Fees are set according to these zones, with no additional charges like External Development Charges applicable. This decisive action marks a stride toward enhancing local healthcare infrastructure.
