A road widening project delayed by legal challenges is in the spotlight after a tragic accident in Telangana. Local MLA Kale Yadaiah shared details on a collision attributed to the road's narrowness, emphasizing legal disruptions had stalled necessary expansion works.
The long-awaited project to widen the busy road from Bijapur to Maneguda had been paused due to interventions by the National Green Tribunal, which was approached by concerned citizens. Recent developments have enabled the commencement of the expansion, marking a crucial step in improving road safety.
The accident, involving a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation bus and a gravel-laden tipper lorry, claimed 19 lives. Radha, a passenger, blamed the tipper. Authorities stress the urgency of the road project to prevent further incidents.
