Catastrophic Floods Devastate Central Vietnam

Central Vietnam is reeling under the impact of severe floods that have claimed the lives of at least 13 individuals, according to recent government reports. An additional 11 people are still missing as relentless rains continue to terrify the area.

The devastating floods, triggered by unprecedented rainfall, have engulfed significant parts of central Vietnam, with the UNESCO-recognized former imperial city of Hue and the historic town of Hoi An being among the most affected.

Reports indicate that over 116,000 homes and 5,000 hectares of crops are under water, with significant damage to roads and railways. The national disaster agency warns of persistent torrential rains, forecasting over 500 millimeters of rainfall in certain areas through Saturday.
