Tragedy Strikes: Man Killed by Wild Elephant in Jharkhand

A tragic incident unfolded in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district when a 28-year-old man, Sirka Chatar, was killed by a wild elephant. The attack occurred as Chatar was assessing the return of a herd of elephants previously driven away.
According to Sub-Divisional Police Officer Raphael Murmu, one elephant unexpectedly appeared and fatally trampled the victim. This incident has spread panic among local villagers who had been managing frequent invasions by the herd.
The forest department arrived at the scene shortly after being informed by the frightened community. The deceased's body was recovered and sent for a post-mortem examination as investigations continue into the aggressive behavior of around 35 elephants causing disturbances in human settlements.
