Amid forecasts for extremely heavy rain in specific districts, Stalin reviewed current precautions and directed the establishment of relief camps, ensuring necessary resources such as food, water, and medicine are available. Equipment like JCB machines and boats are also on standby for emergency situations.
While Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin supervised infrastructure works aimed at flood mitigation, continuous rains have significantly impacted paddy harvesting in regions like Tirunelveli. Farmers voiced concerns over damaged crops, urging governmental intervention for immediate rice procurement.
